Primary porpuse
The Project Manager – Information Technology role is an exciting opportunity to lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic, cross-functional IT projects that successfully meet business objectives. Responsible for the success of a project and manages project schedules, budgets, and the performance of the project team. Manages third party vendors to ensure they deliver the value and services as contracted. Works closely with business stakeholders to meet client expectations and deliver maximum value to the business.
The ideal candidate will have a background in delivering IT application and/or infrastructure/cloud related projects, with responsibility for project schedule, scope, quality of deliverables, stakeholder management and communications.
This person is expected to understand and abide by all company policy, standards and guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
- Organizes and manages matrixed project resources from multiple IT and business departments to meet the project objectives in accordance with department guidelines
- Facilitates resource planning, tracking schedules, budget reporting, risk analysis, issue management, and training
- Develops plans to assess and mitigate dependencies, issues and risks from known internal and external sources over medium durations
- Gathers requirements and confirms outcomes leveraging existing planning and controls processes
- Manages vendors and vendor resources on the project throughout the project lifecycle – from vendor selection through execution.
- Delivers expertise across a range of topics in the project lifecycle from business analysis to benefits realization through the use of well-defined planning and control processes or the development of new processes.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Leads discussions with business stakeholders to scope and define solutions that deliver business value, from concept through execution
- Ensures timely and quality communications with project stakeholders
- Facilitates project steering teams and/or governance activities
- Engages stakeholders in requirements analysis, design reviews and user acceptance testing; or equivalently, in quarterly/sprint planning, feature/user story prioritization, product demos.
Qualifications/ Experience:
• Bachelor´s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or related business/technical
• +5 years of experience working in IT project management, including management of multiple concurrent initiatives implementation of one or more large IT projects.
• Ability to lead a cross-functional team in the analysis, design, and implementation of technology solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Managing business expectations
• Effective in communicating complex technical matters in business terms
• Capable business analysis skills with the ability to lead stakeholders in developing conceptual solutions to complex business problems
• Solid project management skills with the capacity to multitask and manage multiple medium to large projects across multiple IT disciplines.
• Proven communications skills with diverse audiences, in both oral and written contexts.
