The Senior Unified Collaboration Engineer is an advanced level position responsible for the implementation, deployment, and support of network unified communications and collaboration infrastructure and services. This role works with a team of network engineers to maintain the performance, availability, and security of communication and collaboration infrastructure. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of collaboration technologies include VoIP, A\V, videoconferencing, and content sharing. This position provides the opportunity to develop leadership skills as it is responsible for providing developmental leadership and technical guidance for junior level engineers.

  • Responsible for maintaining and operating all enterprise communication/collaboration network services to a high standard. Ensuring the availability, performance, and security of all systems.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and deploys technology solutions, provides feedback, makes recommendations.
  • Plans and executes strategy for collaboration infrastructure including lifecycle management, upgrades, new capabilities, and support.
  • Develops, documents, and adheres to operational best practices.
  • Works collaboratively with the business and IT to translate business needs and support the delivery of quality solutions.
  • Functions as Unified Communications lead SME on assigned projects.
  • Proactively identifies and addresses opportunities for improvement.
  • Gives functional area impacted advice on strategic, tactical, and operational levels to different stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Delivery and Execution

  • Plans, coordinates, and executes complex network infrastructure maintenance, changes, and upgrades.
  • Installs, configures, and documents unified communications systems.
  • Troubleshoots, remediates, and performs root cause analysis of challenging technical issues escalated to the engineering level.
  • Contacts and coordinates vendor, carrier, and remote support when necessary to resolve high impact issues and/or outages.
  • Document and report problems to appropriate management, engineers and/or peers, including non-technical audiences
  • Provide user training in collaboration systems. Facilitate large meetings to ensure a smooth experience.
  • Coordinates, plans, and communicates planned and unplanned outages to the appropriate stakeholders.
