Primary Purpose

 

The Sr. Business Systems Analyst – SuccessFactors EC Payroll provides expert-level functional leadership for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll, ensuring accurate, compliant, and scalable payroll solutions across the enterprise.

This role partners closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and Compliance teams, leads solution design and delivery, and ensures alignment with Mexican payroll regulations, internal controls, and business strategy. Additionally, this role will help provide operational support for other Success Factors modules.

 

SAP Functional Leadership

 

Responsabilities

 

  • Serve as Tier‑3 functional expert for SuccessFactors Employee Central and EC Payroll issues, including complex payroll calculations, retroactivity, and schema/debugging.
  • Lead solution design and optimization for:
    • Payroll configuration
    • Workforce (WFS) Config and Timesheet integration
    • Benefits and compensation interfaces
    • FI posting and reconciliation
  • Ensure payroll processes comply with:
    • Mexican payroll regulations (ISR, IMSS, INFONAVIT, SDI, UMA, PTU, Aguinaldo)
    • Internal controls and audit requirements (SOX where applicable)
  • Guide payroll master data governance and data integrity across Employee Central and Payroll.
  • Partner with Application Management Services (AMS) provider and implementation vendors to resolve defects and deliver enhancements.

 

Project & Enhancement Delivery

 

Responsabilities

 

  • Lead medium-to-large payroll initiatives including:
    • Fit/gap analysis
    • Functional design
    • Configuration
    • Testing (unit, integration, UAT)
    • Deployment and post‑go‑live stabilization
  • Develop and review functional specifications for payroll enhancements, interfaces, and reports.
  • Lead UAT strategy, execution, and defect resolution with Payroll and HR stakeholders.
  • Ensure seamless integration with:
    • SuccessFactors Employee Central
    • Time Management
    • Finance (FI/GL posting)
    • Third‑party payroll or statutory reporting vendors
  • Mentor junior analysts and act as payroll design authority.
  • Payroll execution: Ensure the company’s payroll in Mexico is processed correctly and on time from a technical perspective, guaranteeing timely payments.
  • Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with changes in labor, tax, and social security laws that affect payroll calculations, and implement the necessary adjustments in SAP EC Payroll.
  • Incident and Service Request Management: Monitor and address business-related incidents, service requests, and issues within the payroll application, providing effective and timely resolutions.
  • Operational Tracking and Reporting: Follow up on incidents, document hours and activities performed, and maintain accurate reporting to ensure transparency and service quality.

 

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Leadership

 

Responsabilities

 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to HR and Payroll leadership on best‑practice SuccessFactors payroll solutions.
  • Facilitate payroll design workshops and regulatory alignment sessions, particularly for Mexico payroll processes.
  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable system solutions.
  • Support training, change management, and payroll readiness activities for new functionality or regulatory changes.

 

Experience

 

  • SuccessFactors EC Payroll or SAP Payroll configuration and solution design (+7 years)
  • Payroll operations, statutory compliance, and payroll controls (+5 years)
  • Mexican payroll processing and regulatory compliance (+3 years)
  • SAP or SuccessFactors implementation or enhancement projects (+4 years)

 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

 

  • Deep expertise in SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll and familiarity with other SuccessFactors modules
  • Strong understanding of Mexican payroll regulations and statutory reporting
  • Experience with payroll integrations and FI posting
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and lead complex initiatives
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills in Spanish and English

 

Licenses and certifications

 

  • SAP Success Factors Payroll Certification (preferred)
  • Payroll or HR Certificate (preferred)

 

Education

 

  • Bachelor’s degree: Information Systems, HR, Finance, Accounting, or related (required).
  • Master’s degree: MIS, MBA, or related advanced degree (preferred).
